Our club is involved in a variety of projects that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  Below are the projects in which we are currently involved:
  • The Golden Rule Award - The second object of Kiwanis International states "To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationship".  What better values to instill in our children.  Through the Golden Rule Award, teachers nominate students they feel represent the very core of the Golden Rule.  A designated committee selects the child from the nominations presented.  That child, together with their family and fellow Kiwanians of our area Kiwanis Clubs, is presented with the Golden Rule Award at our Multi-Club meeting.

  • The ELIMINATE Project - Through The Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus - a deadly disease that steals the lives of 34,000 innocent babies and a significant number of womean each year.

  • Kiwanis Bring Up Grades (BUG) Program - Designed to provide recognition to students who raise their grades into an acceptable range and maintain or continue to raise them from one grading period to the next.  Recognition includes being placed on the school's BUG Honor Roll; pizza, ice cream or other food-themed party; and presentation of certificates and buttons.

  • Read Around the World - "The more that you read, the more things you will know.  The more that you learn, the more places you will go."  - Dr. Seuss, I can Read With My Eyes Shut!   Every child should experience the joy of reading.  Read Around the World focuses on sharing the joy of books with young children -- from reading with them to providing books they can have of their very own.
